Sensor size

Hi all,
Does anyone know the sensor size of the DVXa?
I need the height and width.

I also need to know the focal lenth of the lens and the focal lenth of the anamorphic adapter.

I need this information for a match moving software to be able to solve for camera correctly.

Thanks
Aram

welll.... 410,000 pixels....

Ahhh.... Algebra making my brain hurt..... the solution is on the tip of my brain i just cant get it out!!!!!!!! so frustrating.....

i feel like it should be a proportional matter between, 720 times 480 equalling 345,600 pixels and solving for X on 410,000 pixels. probelm is many combination of pices heights can equal 410,000.

DAmmit aram i will never sleep again.

Hi Aram

For me it is more the CCD captor size which does matter for focal length. On the DVX100 the captor are 1/3 inch.

To convert the focal length of the DVX100 in 35mm camera world, you need to divide the size of the 35mm negativ by the size of the CCD captor.
For exemple it is common to say that a Still digital camera (with 2/3 CCD captor) is 1.6 time smaller than the negativ of a 24/36mm Still camera. So a focal length of 30mm on the digital camera will be a 48mm (30x1.6) on the argentic camera.

On the DVX100 the conversion is much higher, it is about 7-8. So your 4.5-45mm on your DVX should represent something like 35-350mm!

If it is exact dimensions of the ccd you are after, a 1/3ccd has a diagonal of 6mm with the width being 4.8mm and the height 3.6mm.

And it is easier for me to find spec on the 100B, but it seems for the 100A, the wide end of the DVX is 4.5 to 45mm. 35mm equivalent of 32.5 to 325mm.

As for the anamorphic, I dont know if it has a direct focal length equivalent since it is wider than it is tall. I haven't been able to find a focal length for it, but I did find a specification that it "widens the existing 4.5mm by approximately 33%." Use that for what it's worth.
