Sensetivity question...

I know the dvx is allegedly f11@2000 lux, but that's in interlace mode, right?

So it would be f8@2000 lux in progressive?

And the hvx is f8@2000 lux in both interlace AND progressive since it samples both from 1080p?

So....in progressive scan, are the dvx and hvx equally sensetive?

I'm thinking of getting an hvx...shooting a feature with it...then selling it, but sensetivity is a huge issue for me. (I'd rent, but the shoot date is basically "all summer" so I might as well just buy one for as long as I need it.)

I think it would be a bit optimistic to assume that the HVX will match the sensitivity of the DVX (should be close however). It is typical to quote only interlaced sensitivity, so I don't know where the idea that the HVX is f8 in both modes originated from.

This question should be answered fairly soon, assuming that the release dates haven't slipped.

There's been no announcement about HVX sensitivity. The only thing we have to go on is NBCShooter's side-by-side with a DVX, where he found it about 1 stop slower than a DVX. From that, and from jan's revelation that the chipset actually always works in progressive, it seems a reasonable assumption to say that the HVX will not go 1 stop slower in progressive, as it's *always* in progressive. Therefore it should be comparably sensitive to a DVX in progressive mode. However, we also have to temper this speculation with the observation that the camera at ResFest was a very early model with the picture "only about 80% done", and not necessarily representative of what the final sensitivity will be like.
