anyone have a sennheiser shotgun mic on their dvx? I am wondering if the length of the mic will be seen if you are zoomed out all the way wide. And will it fit in the mic holder supplied with the dvx? Thanks.

I can't help so precisely, but I do have a 15 inch Audio Technica shotgun mic, and it does appear in the picture if the windscreen is on (the camera needs to be zoomed to 21 to crop it out!) . It fits the holder fine, I think most mics like this are a standard .83", which is the size of the holder. Another thing to look out for is that a longer mic tends to bounce a lot when the camera moves, but the rubber in the holder does a good job of eliminating percussive noise. I would recommend a boom personally, instead of the onboard clip.
Hope this helps.

Just use a shock mount and toss the DVX mic mount. Adapters are easy to find, and can move the mic up and away from view.

I have an ME66 mounted on the pani mic mount, with a wind soc I have to move the mic back as far as possible inorder for it not to show on full zoom out; BUT, it can be done.

Fantastic mic, specially for verite people stuff where your often caught off guard, this mic saves your grass.

I use my ME66 on the camera mike mount for verite handheld stuff without problems. Isolation from vibration is fine. Just slide the mike as far back in the mount as possible without covering the grill openings. Use a short cable and route it to avoid handling noise (the mike is pretty sensitive to handling noise).
Hope this helps.
