I'm looking to get some opinion on which one would you think is better?
I'm debating between the ME66 + K6 and MKE 600.

I like the sound quality of the MKE600 a LOT more than the ME66 + K6. I find the ME66 to have a very "tinny" sound quality that has very little lower end in the sound it captures.
But in terms of isolation and sensitivity which one would be better?
Those are way above our budget. If you had the budget, my first choice would be the Sanken CS-3e shotgun mic. ( one of the best shotgun mics for isolation of your subject from their environment )
My second choice would be the Sennheiser 416, which also does a fairly good job of isolating your subject from their environment.
I did not realize the ME66 had that high an output (50 mV. Most pro shotgun mics are in the 20-30mV range. (Sennheiser's 416 is 25 mV) The only other high sensitivity mic I can think of at the moment is the AT 4073.. 70 mV as I recall. The down point is, high sensitivity mics have a rather low max SPL, but that's usually not a problem for dialog.
I love the ME66 for documentaries. It's one of the most sensitive mics out there and the battery powered phantom power allows it to be used with any recorder. The modular system is also great. A little EQ and I doubt most people would be able to tell it apart from higher costing mics.

basically all cameras had terrible sound back then
my cheapo AT-875r sounded leagues better than the ME64 and ME66. I'm selling the ME66, IMHO, it is useless even as an on camera mic it sounds so bad. Thin, honky mid-range and just unpleasant, little detail and its harsh sounding.
I have an ME-66/K6 laying around (also have the ME-64 and ME-67 capsules too). I have not used or touched it for years, I used to use it back in the Betacam days. If you never shot Beta SP, those cameras had really bad sound quality, basically all cameras had terrible sound back then so I guess we never cared or noticed how bad the sound quality from the ME-66 was because the audio circuit on the Beta SP BVV5 back was so poor. I A/B'd it with my current cheapo AT-875r that I use as an on-camera documentary mic and the difference was night and day, my cheapo AT-875r sounded leagues better than the ME64 and ME66.
