Sennheiser EW 100 G3 questions

sennheiser ew 100 g3 frequency band question

Whats the best frequency band for Los Angeles? A, B, or G? Is there an advantage to having multiple lavs with different frequency bands? I have three, A, A, and B.

To clarify a bit on what David posted: Sennheiser offers a frequency finder on their website, which allows one to locate the least cluttered frequency in a given zip code.

As for the advantage to having multiple systems, sure. I try to get things in pairs (cables, so there's always a backup if one goes bad, lavs so I have a backup if one goes bad in the field, and other mics so that I have better placement options). For wireless systems, a pair in one band and a pair in another band can give you good flexibility. Assuming you have the money to double up like that, go for it. For starters, though, you might be just fine getting a couple of systems in the same (least cluttered for your area) band.

It appears frequencies within TV channels 21, 22, 27, 30, 40, 45, 46, 50 could be 'usable'.
It's up to the OP to choose the Sennheiser frequency block. I ain't sayin which I would choose.
