Hi all I have a Senheiser Me66 and I think I made a very noob mistake.

I left the battery in the k6 powermodule and the battery was starting to leak when I realized I had left the battery in the module.
Now this was awhile ago ...and the sound quality has since then drastically degraded ...I opened up the power module and the mic and there was some oxidation. I since then tried to clean the powermodule, a few times, with not much succes of improving the sound.
Now my quetion does anyone have an either if the sound module K6,needs to be replaced or can I try something else to clean the mic . There is a black stains on the inner side of the mic Me66 .I wiped it with a cloth but some of it seems to be stuck there.

The sound that is recorded now has a considered amount of noise like a constant zooming sound if that's anyway to put and voices sound muffled.

When I look at the waveform the sound signal seems weak.

What to do ...I had this mic for a while but havent enjoyed it that much but when it worked we were pretty happy with it.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated !

Illl try and upload a sample of older recordings and what it sounds like now :(

Thanks Everts

Check everything carefully and make sure all the contacts are clean and any battery residue has been removed - maybe clean with a cotton bud dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

Make sure you also check inside the back end of the capsule as residue may have gotten in there as well.

Once you have made sure it is really clean, try again.

If you still have a problem send it (both K6 and ME66) to your local Sennheiser Main Agent.
