Sending video back to minidv tape

Hi all. I've just completed my first commercial filmed with the dvx for a local tv station. It's nothing to brag about but was an excellent learning experience.

Now that I'm done with it, the station has asked me to submit it on minidv tape. They'll convert it to whatever format they use once they get it. My question is, how can I send the video (created in Vegas) back to the dvx? Do I need some kind of minidv deck to do that? What kind of program would allow me to do this?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

You definitely need a mini dv deck to do this. I've never used my DVX as a deck, but you could try it it you're in a crunch. I don't use Vegas, so I don't know what the parameters are for outputting back to tape. If it doesn't work, I would rent a deck.

Surely Vegas has a "Print to Tape" feature like PremierePro. Use it hooked up to your DVX firewire and you are good to go. No need for a deck. Use the DVX in VCR mode.

Do a "help" search in Vegas for "PRINT TO TAPE".

In premiere, as long as your camera/deck or whatever is hooked up to the firewire and in VCR mode, it just spits the video in your timeline back down to the camera. just hit record and you're cooking with gas.

so to speak.
