Ive had my cam for around 3 yrs. Its works like a champ, should I send it out for maintenance? What would they do besides clean the heads? Do I send that to panny for that or use a local guy? what usually the cost for something like that?
Local shops in my area (Los Angeles) charge around $200 for cleaning AND includes "calibration" as well. Some are "authorized" Panny service centers. But the one nearest me isn't "authorized" and has a good rep still.
Do it yourself man, its super easy once you've done it once, Isopropanol Alcohol from Radio Shack, and some Chamois swabs from Fry's Elect, and you're good to go!
Make sure to check out http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=6888 if you plan on cleaning it. It is really easy to clean yourself, but you can also screw it up if you don't know what your doing.
