Sending large files via Internet

Does anyone know of any sites other than www.yousendit.com where you can send large files via the internet? I have to send someone a video so they can put it on their website and I am trying to think of the best option. Ive used the site I listed above in the past but looks like they are making you pay a fee for anything over 100mb.

Thanks

Get your own website, places like http://www.1and1.com and http://www.dreamhost.com provide large amounts of storage/bandwidth for minimal cost.

I have a 1and1 account, and I pay $10/mo (paid quarterly) for 250GB storage and 2.5TB of bandwidth. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, the have an account that costs $4/mo and you get 10GB storage and 300GB of bandwidth.

Larry, how good are the DL speeds? I've had some pretty slow DLs from people who had 1and1.

On my mac, I just stick files in the sites folder, and then it's available to anyone on the internet provided they have your IP address and username. This feature has to be activated in system preferences. It's under Sharing>Personal Web Sharing. I also added password protection to the folder with a little utility called Weblock.

I 'd recommend if you don't know how unix security works not to share folder from Mac. Try to open enale the firewall for personal we sharing too.
There are a lot of people scanning the internet for open ports anytime, a lot.

I have 2 firewalls running, plus I have a dynamic IP address. I check my logs every now and then and the only time I have had trouble with people trying to hack into my system is when using bit torrent. I'll usually get a Ping Of Death when downloading a popular file, but my router has stopped it every time. I've been doing this for many years and haven't had a problem sharing from this folder.

I haven't had any issues, that I'm aware of. And just to give you an idea, at least 3 of the mirrors used during the last couple fests were 1and1 hosts. I didn't hear any complaints on d/l speed (at least not that I can remember) :)
