Sending Items to the US - Hassle??

This is what I found at the purolator site:

Reminder: All shipments to the US with a value of $200.00 US or greater must have, regardless of the type of good;

An US & International Waybill (domestic also accepted)
A commercial or Pro Forma invoice including the 10 digit HS Tariff number(s) for each product in shipment
A Valid NAFTA certificate, if applicable (Goods of Canadian Manufacture/Origin may qualify for Free Trade)
Country of Origin statement

Shipments to the USA valued over $200 US require a "Commercial Invoice" and an International Bill of Lading. The reciever's IRS & SIN# is required for possible formal entry.

Shipments to the USA valued over $2000 US, must include the receiver's IRS number on the International Bill of Lading.

Shipments to a residence will require the receiver's social security number. Failure to comply with this regulation may result in shipment delays.

I know if someone requested my Social insurance number to send to me, I'd say forget it. What a pile of forms to fill out.

I wonder if there'd be tariff charges if the country of origin isn't the US or Canada... (ie: most electronics).

Also.. go to:
http://www.purolator.ca/pts/usa/required_docs2.html

and click on:
" Step 1. Click here to check which documents you need."

it says you have to fill out a numerous more forms for a value or $2000 and more.
1) Commercial Invoice
2) IRS/SSN
3) Manufacturers Affidavit ?
4) Power of attorney ?

And then.. Ohoh... it can emit radio frequency waves.. do I have to fill out the FCC form too?

That's if you're a business and it's considered that you are exporting to the US.

Regular folks just have to fill in the little green customs form. (or the big white one, if you want)
