sending DV via firewire to DVX, no picture in LCD. Help!

My NLE is Vegas and I am sending DV to the DVX via Firewire and there is no picture in the LCD monitor on the DVX.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
 
I am a little confused. How are you 'sending' it to the DVX?
Or are you capturing FROM the DVX via firewire (Vegas capture)?
 
I am not trying to capture. Just send DV to DVX via Firewire. I put the DVX in VCR mode and in Vegas select it as the external preview device, But I see no video on the LCD monitor of the DVX.
 
ah! I'm a little dense today, sorry. I haven't tried that - I pass through the DVX to a TV.
Maybe a tape needs to be in there for some reason? I'll try it later tonight.
 
Have you selected "Recompress Edited Frames" in the preferences?
Also, it might sound like a silly questions, but just to be sure, have you selected the "Preview on External Monitor" button on your Video Preview window?
 
Ok, Here's something else, When I switch the DVX to CAMERA, I see video on an external TV plugged into the Analog Video Out of the DVX (no problem). But, when I switch the DVX to VCR I do not see any video on the TV.
 
Unless I put a tape into the DVX and push PLAY, I do not see anything on the external TV. I would like to see what is coming in via firewire.
