Hey guys wondering if you could help me out. Im recording a seminar soon with my DVX. Its in a big function room, because the speaker is using powerpoint the room will be poorly lit. I'll be at the back of the room. Can anyone recommend what settings to use on the DVX? i cant use auto as the light from the poweroint presentation (which is white) will mislead the camera. Any help would be great. Its a one camera shoot. I'll need to go from a wide shot to CU of the powerpoint slide and then back to a WS. Cheers.

If the room is realy big, I don't recomend you be at the back. The DVX only has a 10 x optical zoom & you won't get in too close with that from the back. As far as sound is concerned, go wireless lav if you can get your hands on it.

For lighting, you need to set up two lights at the left & right just in front of the speaker. Nothing to bright and powerful as to offend their eyes but just enough to get the image looking good in low light. Also adjust your shutter and if you absolutely have to,(if no light avail), gain up a notch.

You can shoot 60i as it is better in low light situations than 24p.
