Selling DVX100b - but LCD is broken - HELP

I am trying to sell my dvx-100b.
The camera works perfect.

EXCEPT:
someone knocked it off of my 2ft tall table a year ago, with the LCD open, and the monitor was broken.. A replacement LCD from Panasonic is around $500.00.. It never bothered me because I don't ever use the LCD.

Is it worth it to replace the LCD and then try to sell it? or should I just sell it for less and get what I can for it?

Please help.

comes with: Hard Case, Battery, and charger.

VTR Service in Burbank, CA fixed one of my LCDs. Talk to Shane, and tell him Kristopher with the DVX's told you about him. He'll give you a great deal and no matter where you live, you can just ship it to him. Hope that helps. All the best. :)

Mine is broken too. My cousin let the tripod tip over in the snow with the LCD open...

However, when I sent mine in to Panasonic, they quoted me at a $900 fix, not $500. Maybe mine is broken differently, I'm not sure, but regardless, I know in my case I will not be fixing it.

Depending on how many hours are on your cam/how used it is, I wouldn't replace it. The only reason I would replace would be if you had very low hours on the cam and could expect to get 1400-1500 dollars for it. Otherwise, you're probably better off just selling it without and taking the hit - hook someone up, let them pay for it if they so choose.

For the record - without my LCD, I've shot better video than I have with. You can configure all the displays to show up through the viewfinder and I get better colors there anyway.

That's just my two cents. Good luck mang.

Heyyyy Milos. Guess who this is .

If it costs that much to fix, you're better off keeping it for the hell of it or trying to sell it for cheap. Give somebody a deal hahah.

re: blondie, totally agree w/you about shooting with the viewfinder. better resolution too! :)
i totally don't miss the lcd at all .

thanks for the suggestions everyone.

such a great camera, hate to let it go, but I need to move onwards.
someone make me an offer. :)

Well I'd be interested but not at $900. At $900 I could grab any number of the local ones that pop up on Craigslist fully working. On a forum like this where stuff generally fetches it's true value, I don't think that's an unrealistic price to ask though.

I'd be willing to do $600 on it. I have another beaten up DVX here I can scavenge a screen from so I'd just do that.

its not beaten up actually, not even any scratches on the body, lcd is just broken. but whatever. thanks for the offer.
