Selling DVX100!

I'm about to graduate from college and am moving into the writing field. I have barely used the dvx. Less than 15 hours used total. My enthusiasm for directing is shown in my post history, not much lol. I'm not really motivated enough to go out and shoot a lot. So, I'm looking to sell my dvx. Comes in original box, with instructions, battery, battery pack, and the DVX100. Not the dvx100 a.

Please pm me with offers. Buyer pays shipping. Thanks!

Last thing I sold like this was a gamecube, so I forget how to do it. Other than return receipt isn't there something else to do? I would need post office money order on delivery. I forget how to do that? Which form do I have to fill out?

Hey, I totally understand. I live in New Jersey. I remember vaguely there is some sort of service at the post office to pay on delivery.

I'm looking for $2000 + shipping.

COD is worthless because it allows either the seller or the buyer to easily commit fraud. A buyer can give the delivery guy a bogus money order--there's no check on whether the payment is valid. The seller can send a package with a brick--you can't get the package until you fork over the payment.

So it's up to the buyer to check out the seller and determine whether the transaction is legit.

You should do what you need to to feel confident about the purchase. For some people that means buying from a store, for others thoroughly checking out the seller. People sell equipment here everyday and they usually find a reasonable comfort level to conduct the transactions.

I found a good way to get this done. Cash on delivery through FEDEX.

So, I'm ready as soon as possible to sell for $2000 + shipping.

Anyone who is ready, just give me your address and we can do this. Thanks!

You must be on crack. Exactly what the hell is shady about COD? I can't sell on ebay because I can't have a bank account because of college financial aid routines. Please, stop spreading these silly uneducated lies, I need to get this sold.

Also, a potential buyer pointed out to me a service called escrow.com

So, if you have a reasonable distrust, you can always pay for that.

I think Barry_S spelled out exactly what is unreliable about C.O.D., and there's nothing about his post that would imply that he was "on crack".

If C.O.D. allowed the buyer to inspect the goods before paying for them, then it would be reliable. But it doesn't -- you're not allowed to open the box. So, as Barry_S said, a disreputable seller could ship a brick in the box, and the buyer wouldn't know until they'd already paid for it. When it's too late. And there's not a thing they can do about it.

If the seller demands cash-only, and the buyer pays cash, that at least limits the risk for the seller. But the buyer is still fully exposed.

Escrow (from a valid, non-ripoff, non-fake escrow site) is the only way to ensure fidelity on both sides of the transaction. And that comes with a fee.

Paypal has a somewhat-escrow feature that gives the buyer some measure of protection, in that they provide for a guaranteed-money-back feature. But paypal is a little risky for the seller, as the seller runs the risk of a chargeback.

Mike, I don't have a digital camera, but I can post footage of the dvx shot against a mirror if you are serious. I truly need money for my last year of college, so please pm me, but only if you are serious. I need this camera sold as soon as possible.
