Sell DVX?

Now have the HD100, will shoot and edit HDV and down convert, any reason to hold on to my DVX? I only do short film and music video. Only have 37 hours on the DVX.

No but crictical focus can be challenging in some instances, an auto focus would be at least a nice option. For instance, was doing a night shot in a small bedroom, the camera dolly's from the foot of the bed to the head of the subject, at that point, although I hate zooming, I needed to move in closer to the face,
impossible, as even a fairly short zoom puts the subject out of focus. Now I know manual was the intent with the camera and I love all the other features, but that was simple task that could have easily been achieved with an auto focus. It's doable you just have to practice the shot while dialing the lens as you move. Just not used to it yet. A focus puller is iminient.

If a short zoom puts the image out of focus, then your back focus isn't working properly. :)

Does using 2 cams give you a competitive edge or for music vids?
Will the resale value of the DVX drop when the A1 is released?
Could that cash be better used on other equipment?

Miniman, I'm no expert and would love any input you have on that issue, and thanks for responding.

The viewfinder is ok but still not good enough for critical focus. The focus assist is nice though as it turns the VF B&W and then the areas that are in focus show up as blue, red, or green, whichever color you choose.

Regarding the title of the thread, I did sell the DVX

From my limited experience with the HD100, I'd still want to keep the HVX200 around for SD stuff. I personally think the colors look better and you don't have to worry about interframe encoding. I've seen the same thing shot with an DVX100A and an HD100 in SD and I must say I vastly prefered the DVX footage.

Do words like that frighten you? I'm not pretending to be any expert. I'm just pointing out that when I saw the two put side by side in SD, the DVX100 looked far better to my eyes (VASTLY!!!) because it's colors were much more vibrant and natural.
