Self repair of DVX tripod frame????

alright so i talked to an authorized panasonic repair center and they said that the tripod frame (pictured) is a user replaceable part. so i ordered it, and then i unscrewed the first layer of plactic on the bottom of the DVX. from here i'm kind of stuck. should i even be attempting this? has anyone else done this? any help would be MUCH appreciated!

 
The two black screws on both ends of the mount should be removed. Make sure that the broken pieces don't fall back into the camera. Then replace it with the new one and reverse the steps and you're good to go.

If you need any more help, just let me know. Our company has replaced hundreds of those things. :)
