Self-promotion: how do you claim a client as a sub-contractor?

Never really knew what the common protocol was on this...

example, say Shmucklefutz Productions hires me as an editor for a show on The Vole Network... when tooting my own horn on my web page, is it kosher to claim clients include The Vole Network, or should it be kept to listing Shmucklefutz Associates as the client and claim "work has appeared on The Vole Network?" I've seen both methods used in the websites of others.
 
The client is the one that hires/contracts your services directly. If that work appears on a network, then it's a credit with that network.
