Selecting SLR Lenses with a large barrel throw? , Which ones? Anything I should look

As we all know, a problem with pulling focus on SLR lenses is the short barrel throw. It makes focusing very difficult when you go from 5ft to 7ft in a fraction of an inch. I've noticed that some SLR lesnes are better than others at providing a large enough barrel throw. What can I look for that will help me find lenses with a decent barrel throw? I don't have the money for cine lenses of course. If anyone has any lenses they've found works especially well for pulling focus, I'd appreciate it if you could mention the model and/or provide a link.

Go oldschool

100-300 5.6 nikkor manual zoom is worth checking out - I scored one for $100

but with no tripod mount it can be unstable

the real solution IMO is for a geared down FF

Thanks morgan, I will check out the 100-300. What about lens(es) in the 28-75 range? That's what I mainly use.

PS: I have a RedRock Micro V2 follow focus

expensive zeiss best or regular non zoom nikkors - I cant see much difference between AF and MF on the nikkor front apart from my old MF have more sand in them typically :) so the AFs are better

Anything purely manual focus tends to be good. Stay away from the Tamron zoom in that range, about 1/6th of a turn to go from 0.3m to infinity.
