Selecting a Camera

Greetings,

I am in the market for a video camera, and I am a huge fan of the DVX-100Bs. While I'm leaning towards purchasing one to take advantage of the $250 rebate, I'm a little concerned about spending $2,250 on one with all the HD video cameras that are out now. (I've also looked at the Canon XHA1 as well as the Panasonic HVX200. Both are a bit out of my price range right now unfortunately.)

Just thought I'd see if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions for me about the pros and cons of purchasing a DVX100 now. I don't want to drop all this money on a camera that could become obsolete with the rise of HD and HD TVs.

Thanks for any thoughts or insights you can share.

Hey,

If you need it now buy it used you can find it for under a thousand on ebay.
If you want it new and if you can wait a couple of weeks, then wait for its HD predecessor. But me personally, I wouldn't buy a new SD cam for 2500.00 (IMHO).

All the best,

manny
