Seeing levels for all 4 channels on C300 III

Hi all -- does anybody know if there's a way for levels from all 4 channels to be viewable on the primary LCD display? I'm aware that the "audio status" screen will show me all 4 channels but having to toggle a menu while filming is a no-go.

If there's no way to do this, I'm wondering if it's possible to OUTPUT all 4 channels so I can view levels on a monitor. Looks like HDMI only outputs 2CH. Can it output all 4 via SDI?

I appreciate any and all help!

As a c200 owner, I don't know if the c3003 can do what you're asking.

If you can't find a way to get levels from all four channels on screen at once, you should be able to assign buttons to quickly check channel 3/4.

On the c200, when I need to record 4 channels, I'll assign button 3 to "CH3 Level" and button 4 to "CH4 Level" (normally ZEBRA and WFM on the c200).

This lets you push the button, adjust the level with up/down on one of the joysticks, then pushing the button again gets you out of the screen. Pushing SET/OK takes you to the Audio Setup, where you'd have the extra step of pushing MENU to exit.

And if you didn't know, you can easily assign buttons by pushing and holding MENU then whichever button you'd like to assign (I assume this works on the c3003!)

I wonder if adding the EU-V2 expansion unit with 2x audio dials unlocks the extra channels on screen?

You know you don't need to go into the menu to select audio status, you can just hit button 13, right?

Yes. My gripe is that I want my levels available at all times on the primary display. Love the camera, but having to navigate somewhere to check if I'm peaking on CH 3/4 is absurd.

Your only option as I see it is to monitor CH1/2 on the camera and output 3/4 via HDMI to a separate monitor. PITA but doable.

I feared that was the case. Thanks, Liam.

I understand that C300III HDMI can only output 2 channels of audio. Anybody know if SDI carries all 4?

SDI can carry up to 16 channels (maybe more by now, IDK) - but not sure how it works with the Canons as the company is notorious for limiting their cameras in peculiar fashion.

Well, what do you know? I just checked my C500 and you can output 4 channels through SDI but only 2 through HDMI, so SDI is an option. HDMI is capable of 8 channels of audio so it would be good if they could add that to the output too, even better if they could add it to the on camera display.

Great news -- thanks, Liam!
