See NEW MUSIC VIDEO stills

Do you have another thread somewhere? I have seen stills from this before. If I recall I said the one image of the guy in the car looked like Bono from U2.

Nice stills and write-up. I'm interested to see the whole thing.

But, you can't really call this a $1000 budget. With everything you list that you got for free, you're talking about many times that much. Maybe this is just a pet peeve of mine... all those "how to make a feature film for $10,000" books that tell you how to do it... assuming you can land some serious favors. Besides, I think that publicizing how little it cost just devalues your work for the industry. I've done some super-low-budget stuff like this, but when most people ask, the number I give them is how much it SHOULD have cost if people were really getting paid, etc. I don't need some guy coming back at me saying "hey, do MY music video for $500!"

Okay, I'm off on a tangent now. Sorry! Nice work on this video anyway.

You are correct, but I was not trying to hide that we had favors and this journal is what it is a journal entry exposing what it took to make the video... It would be silly to sell it to a client as $1000 video. We would without a doubt quote it at what we thought it would take to reproduce.

I do see how the title can be misread. If you didn't read "THE CHALLENGE:" before you read "Create a professional looking video on a $1000 budget." I kinda thought that most people would understand from my journal that it can't be done without favors, but you have made me see the error of my thoughts, so I went a head and changed the title to "To create a professional video through favors and $1000" in hopes to make it more clear.

I hope that helps.

chris

No, I didn't misunderstand it, and I didn't really need to think it needed to be changed, either. It just seemed like you were emphasizing the low-budget factor as if that was the important part. I think I was just venting because you gave me something to vent. Sorry about that.

Anyway, like I said, still interested to see the finished product.

You made a valid point and I appreciate it, that's why I went ahead and changed it. I've been working on it while still editing a feature, but I do expect to finish it and share it soon.

Did you use any lens filters/Mattebox. Looks like you may have. Maybe a Graduating Tobacco, etc. If so, can you list them? Or did you do the coloring work in post?

Rock Solid. great to see more great work.

Keep trucking, you have "the eye"

The adapter thing is not the end-all-be-all, and this guy proves it.

Thanks guys, I'm still working on the edit, unfortunately I'm completely bogged down editing a feature film at the moment, but I am hopeful I'll have the video to show soon.

DP Strangelove, We did not have the money for a Mattebox :( I used a polorizing filter for the desert images.
