Second Camera with 5d? Body Only?

Hi, I have a 5dii and I really really really want/need 60p. I was going to sell my 5d and get a 7d and then spend about a grand on a new lens. I was thinking also that another option would be to sell my vixia and get a GH1 body only. I can't find it anywhere though. Could someone tell me where I might find one and how much It might be?

Basically I read Barry's 7d vs GH1 comparison and I was very surprised about the GH1 having superior 720p. And I thought then that maybe I could get the GH-1 to go with my 5d because I heard bodies go for around or less than 800.

What do you guys think about this? Does anyone else have the GH1/5d combo? How do you like it? I probably don't have the money... but the idea of also having a more compact camera that I also don't have to be as* careful with I like. Also it would be great for timelapses. Does it have a built in timer/time lapse function by the way?

How about the editing stage? I know that you have to do a pulldown with the 24p, but how do you handle the 60P? Man... I studied the GH1 like crazy up until the point that I decided to cancel my preorder (one of the first) and get a 5d. So now I forget everything... anyways, yeah, let me know what you guys and gals think please.

Body only GH1 is for NTSC only available in Japan with menus in japanese. The PAL version is available as body only from a dutch reseller but I doubt that's a official kit as nobody else here sells it. I think they might be selling the kit lens separately.
Are you aware that there's a update in the works that will give 5DmkII 720 at 60p?
For dealing with 60p to 24 there's a sticky thread in the GH1 workflow area.
 
Thank you. The picture that lead people to claim it would be getting 60p was actually from a 1dsmark4. Are you talking about something else? I don't see how it could do 60p when it only has two dgic chips (the 7d has 2).

Is there any way to switch the japanese camera to english? As far as the menus? And yeah I don't want PAL... hmmm. I am already starting to think this is a bad idea. Well more insights would be great.
 
I would keep the 5d and buy a gh1. Canon are in the process of updating the firmware to incorporate 720p 60fps along with other frame rates and sizes. I prefer the picture from the gh1 anyways.

That's still very much a rumor at this point. And as usual rumors take on a life of their own when they're posted in enough threads and websites.
 
Your 5D will be getting 720/60p sometime in the next 6 months. If you need it for a few shots I recommend buying something else to resell or borrowing a camera from someone, but keep the 5D you'll get it sooner or later.
