Second camera to DVX

I got an extra thousand or so, and I was thinking of buying a camera to be a back up for my dvxa when I do events. You know stationary and wide, while I handle the DVX getting different angles.

Any cameras in that price range that you think would be worth it?

Also opinion on this idea, a ghetto idea I admit, but if I wanted to shoot 24p on the DVX and use vegas to "convert" the OTHER camera's (stationary) footage to 24 frames and put 'em together. Eh? What do you all think?

...Why do I feel like I something bad is going to happen to me now b/c I asked that? :violent5:
 
i would suggest the dvc80, the dvc30 or the pvdv953 if you can find them that is since they have been discontinued but im sure they can be found on ebay.
