Searching for used cameras

I'm finding deals all over the web, but mainly for cameras outside of Canada (duty and taxes too high). My buddy needs a camera (a decent 3chip) a.s.a.p. and, unfortunately, I am using my DVX out here in Eastern Canada -- so, I cannot be of help to him. Any leads?

I see several Canada cams every week. But then again, I live in USA.... LOL

Any criteria besides 3 chips?

Essentially a versatile, 3chip that will produce a good picture suitable for broadcast. Something available for approx. $2000 CAN would be perfect.

I've got a practically new, mint condition AG-DVC60 for sale for $1850.00 US if you're interested. I'm not sure what that comes out to in Canadian $$. It's probably the most versatile 3CCD pro DV camcorder that Panasonic has ever built. It's got everything the DVX100A has and then some including the Cinegamma but not 24P. It can shoot in absolute darkness as well. E-mail me if you want to know more: video_guys1@hotmail.com

Hey, I never looked at DVC60 before. That is a nice cam. 1/4 inch chips though. What does it weigh, Panny site has no weght specs...

I believe it weighs about 6 lbs. complete with the large battery installed. Don't be fooled by the 1/4" chips. The picture is magnificent. The DVC60 for some reason has gotten lost among the crowd. It outperforms the GL2 and the XL1S at least in my opinion. They finally came up with a pro DV cam that looks and performs right without breaking the bank.

Yep, it's intriguing. I never took a good look at it before. The 16x lens means it probably has a better DOF than the DVX, I am gonna download the manual and take a careful look. Maybe I should buy that as my interim camera (instead of a DVX) while waiting for the HDX. It would certainly be nice to save $1000, I just need to decide if I care about 24p this year, and if I want a shoulder mount. It may look "too pro" for my needs. If I was shooting weddings, I would snap it up and another one too.

Videoguy, does the DVC60 use same batteries as DVX? How about other accessories like mattebox, filters, etc??? DO you have a pic of one mounted on a tripod, or with a size reference in it (like a human head)?

sorry... couldn't resist!

The DVC60 uses all of the same batteries that the DVX100 uses. In fact, it comes with the largest 5400mAh battery standard making it an even better deal. The 100A comes with a beginners small battery. If you'd like, I can e-mail you some pics of the one I am selling. It has a different diameter lens though, 43mm vs. 72 mm. Mine is still under warranty by the way and has only 7 hours of use.
