New nano-tech from Seagate will allow their hard drives to be increased by a factor of 10. So we'll have 7.5 TB hard drives to replace their current leading 750 GB. Good news for the storage issue of HD footage.

I wonder when the consumer will see it and how much it will cost. I noticed in the article they weren't saying when it would be available.

Wow! That sure is welcome news I hope that these super-capacity harddisks will be out soon & affordable too.

Yeah that sounds cool and all but its the same old idea. I would much rather see soild state drives coming out in that size. Maybe one day.

Solid stat is good, but like Panasonic's P2 card, size is a major limitation & is still pricey. Hopefully technology will be improved significantly to greatly bump up the storage space of solid state flash cards to the point where it makes it attractive over harddisks, even though harddisks not are cheaper.

I just hope that it's reliable!

Just when you get all your stuff on one drive I am sure it would crash!
Wah Wah Wah
I keep backing up the back-up of the back-up!

Hmmmm...the plot thickens. Very nice to know if nothing else this should help push down cost of other storage mediums as well as push other developers to find bigger and faster storage capacities themselves. Ahh the beauty of a freemarket economy...
