Sea Shanty Films presents: BAILEY

Wow! I love the poster and grabs! Great looking work here, fellas!

Whiskey bottle stuffed with xmas lights..... I am going to have to try that! (If nothing else, it'll give me something to do with all of these empty bottles!)

Looks great, guys! Can't wait to see it.

Best to you.

-Ted

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying the screen captures and the poster.

Hopefully, the distinguished representative from the Lone Star state will be providing more details about our project soon.

"...I thought we were making a film, not a movie!"

Wow, some awesome films on here. Really looking forward to checking them all out. Good luck to all...

Hi Ted,

Coming on to your thread late, but where did you shoot "Threading The Needle"?

Thanks. I had nothing to do with it (except for providing the brilliant eye modeling...though even that goes to mom and dad).

Seriously, our man Brigham (TeamSeaShanty) came up with that design and execution on his own - nailed the tone, made it unique, and it sticks in your head.

Of course, your banner has a certain stick-in-your-head quality to it, too...
You've said you're going to India soon, right? What part?

Guess it will be fun

While we wait for the viewing to begin (and for Mr. Singh to find and capture a live Yeti for us all), please enjoy these production stills from "Bailey":

Tiddliwinks, anyone?

Uugh, all I wanted to do was post a reply about this film, and suddenly I'm having to watch for rabit Yetis (you DID say rabid, right? And just what IS the plural of Yeti?), and what's up with that guy in the production still, is the color off in the image or does that guy have blue hair?!?! You indy guys will let just about anyone onto your set won't ya'?!?!

Seriously, just had to take a sec to say how amazing these screengrabs are! I want that shot of the top in the hallway to hang in my livingroom!

And that continuity shot of Kirk, uh Eric, uh Dave, I think that kinda' just screams, "I am not a happy camper!"

Well, I don't know how worried you have to be about "rabit" Yetis...though that does bring some disturbing images to mind when one considers the inter-species nature of such a coupling...on second thought, be very worried. And afraid.

Yeah - what exactly is that blue-haired guy tryin' to prove?...

Go check out the "Spectre" thread under "User Films"....

Uugh, well, as Ned Flanders would say, "Darn-diddly-arnit"...yeah, ok, so it was a typo, I meant to type rabBIT yeti...I can't believe you've never heard of the rabbit yeti...they crossbred with the jackalope of the South-Western deserts many a' year ago!

Seriously though, if, in less than six minutes, you can make a drama that is a whole universe unto itself...with believable characters that sweeps the viewer into their world and makes that viewer feel for them...believe IN them...then you've done your job, and from just these screen grabs alone, it looks as if you've done it! Look out folks, here comes Sea Shanty!!

My impressions of BAILEY:

this is definitely a touching, layered story of loss. I think the only detraction was the dialogue. too much emphasis might have been placed on being meaningful or poignant resulting in characters that are very, very difficult for an actor to play. I would have rathered they not acknowledge what was really underneath their pain and let it all be revealed and indicated visually. just an opinion.

btw, I thought the guy was taking a piss at the beginning. might want to recut that opening unless this was intentional.

Interesting. None of our test viewers mentioned your problem with the beginning. Hopefully, that won't be all anyone can think of now when they see it...

Thanks for your opinion.

okay, well you know it was just the sound of the rain during the opening close-up that sounded that way. but i'm sure most people's minds don't "go there" the way mine does. so please, forget i said anything. :)

Man! I am on my third attempt to download this movie... I hope it goes through this time...

I haven't seen anything yet.
