SDI signal from HVX-200

I am currently using a component RGB cable to output the HD signal from my HVX to a monitor. Is it possible to use the same component jack to output an SDI signal, using a different cable?

Not a cable, but an adapter box. There are component->SDI adapter boxes out there, I think blackmagic makes one, I know AJA does, they go for about $500.

I want to get the component out from the HVX200 to HDMI. I was thinking to go Component to VGA and VGA to HDMI.. will it work? That will cost about $20 vs $500 for a Component to HDMI Blackmagic or something box. I understand I wll not have sound, I want only 1080p video..

What do you need the HDMI for?
