SDI Out Problems

So I just bought a 7" Marshall VR70PHDA and can't get this thing to work with my AF100. I got the BNC cable today, plugged it into the SDI out on the AF100 and the video in on the monitor. I did my research and made sure to have my settings right, SDI out should be set to on. I know you can't have all three on at once, but I can't get anything to show up on the Marshall. It seems like I've tried every combination of settings, including changing settings with the LCD closed to see if anything would pop up on the screen but I have nothing. I've never used an external monitor before so could someone help me out please?

I honestly don't even know if I'm going to keep the monitor because I may not end up needing it, but I do want to know how to use it if I need to ever hook up a monitor to this again.

Thanks,
Ryan

I think you might have got the wrong monitor there. I don't know the model but a quick look online makes me believe that the VR70PHDA is a Component and Composite monitor only - no SDI.

Ugh, so I would need different cables than the one's I have. That's annoying. Not a huge deal, after getting it I realized it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be, so I think I'll just relist it. Thanks guys

The AF100 doesn't have component out (which is analog HD) it has HDSDI and HDMI (both digital HD) and composite (analog Standard Def). You'll have to get a new monitor or a converter to use it for HD.

Just to beat to the dog again...consider an EVF instead of a monitor. Your rig will be much more compact, & balanced, plus you'll be able to see the image outdoors in direct Sun.

Defintely agree, I'm going to try to go without one, but do you have any recommendations in case I end up getting one?
