Hey,

I no you have all read this endlessly,

but it hasnt been made clear. Can you finally overcrank and undercrank on sdhc cards.

I have 1 16gb transcend class 10 and i know sxs is safer.

:) thanks

ollie

I have the class 10 Transcend and MxR non-locking adapters. As near as I can tell, the camera doesn't know the difference. I've never run into a problem, and I have tried to force a failure (such as hitting record on-off in quick succession, not waiting for the card light to go back to green). You will need firmware 1.20 for the EX1.

yeah brilliant, do you still trust them 100% i will invest in a 16gb transcend, and a 16gb sxs too.

:) whats your setup?

I've been shooting nearly every day for the last 6 weeks on my movie (and more before that of course). I use Transcend class 10 with an MxR adapter pretty much exclusively (event though I do have SxS cards) and have never had a problem specific to the cards.

With all the cards if there is an interruption to power or low power you will get a restore media error, but that's pretty simple to fix (pop the media in and out, then select the restore media option.)

There is some batch to batch variation of writing speed of the cards and I've heard of some that won't support all speeds of the camera, but I think that's rare lately.

Have shot probably over 50 hours at 720 50P with Sandisk Extreme Class 10 Cards (2 x 16GB and 1 x 32GB) in the last few months and never missed a frame! I've also shot several hours on 16GB Sandisk Ultra Class 4's and Class 6's with the same excellent results. Using one older MxR adapter and one newer "locking" version (without the spring loaded card release). Once even accidentally ejected a card while recording a live event to that slot - and simply had to let the restore the media, and nothing was lost.

This is good and great cheaper option which is great. I need to get some more adapters too. whats everyone setup?

Just don't get the cheap express card adapters off of ebay, etc. They don't fit in the door and generally don't work. Other than that there are several to choose from. MxR, Hoodman, E-Films, MxM, Kxt, etc all seem to work but you could look for recent reviews of them.
