Hi

My new HMC151 was delivered a couple of days ago and I'm very excited. 3 Transcend 16GB cards also just arrived too from a different supplier. These are the red stripe Taiwanese versions and NOT the green striped ones that were shown on the web page. Just emailed the company (I'm a new customer) and explained that I need an urgent replacement (if they do in fact have any). This is based on details about the issue I have seen here and on another forum. The SLC/MLC difference appears to have been identified as have the different speeds of these two types of Transcend 16GB (133x and 150x), but what I really don't understand is that surely both of these Class 6 cards should in theory be fast enough for video on the HMCs anyway - is that right?

Hope I can sort this out for next weekend as I am eager to go out and capture some shots. I don't want to open these red stripes today in case I am just wasting my time as I have lots to do.

Can't wait to receive my HMC book!

Thanks.

Technically Class 6 covers cards 40x and up, so both 133x and 150x are Class 6 and should both work. Have you actually tried them ???

No I haven't tried them. I thought that maybe I will get less hassle/delay from the company in exchanging them if I left the packaging intact.

I was very tempted though, beautiful autumnal day here on the South Coast but no time spare today!

Been using the red tripe card since february this year and shoot a lot of weddings with this card and tnx GOD no problem with this card at the mment.

Not necessarily. If it doesn't have the "Class 6" designation on the card, or it doesn't say "C6" on it, then it doesn't necessarily meet the minimum specifications for class 6. Just because the manufacturer's bragging that it runs faster than class 6, doesn't mean that a) it actually does, or b) that they've put in the proper communications between the card and the camera to tell the camera it's class 6.

And an AVC camera like the hMC150 doesn't need class 6 anyway, it only really needs class 4.
