Lesson learned this weekend on my shoot in Seattle. We dumped one of our SDHC cards to a drive and deleted the footy off the card before we backed up the footage and WHAM— someone knocked the hard drive to the ground... bye, bye footy we thought...
Then we took the deleted card which had not been recorded over yet, and we googled SDHC recovery. First recovery program worked.
If you ever need to recover deleted footage off an SDHC card:

You'll have to restructure the folder tree for FCP, but this was a life saver/gamechanger.
