SDHC class Recommendation for the GH1

What SDHC do you recommend for the GH1? (brand, class)
I'm thinking about the size above 32GB.

Also is it recommended that I go with the pricy SDXC? Is it worth the price?

Thanks

I have a hackable GH1.
I should have mentioned that I intend to use it for the GH13.
I want to shoot the maximum setting the GH13 can deliver.
It seems that most of the errors users experiencing are due to the lackluster SDHC performance.

That's not what I've gleaned from my reading. It seems the Class 6 cards give enough, and class 10 plenty enough for GH13. The card is not the bottleneck, from what most of the testers conclude.

Anyway, Panasonic Gold C10 or Sandisk Extreme C10 are both rated the most highly, although others say the Transcend is just as good at 1/4 the price.

Transcend class 10 is good enough for high bitrate shooting. There are differences between cards though. I have a fast and not-so-fast Transcend 16GB card. I also heard of trouble using 32GB Transcend cards, but have no experience with those myself.

I've been thinking about the 32GB capacity (or the cheap 64GB if is there is any).

The problem is that the price seems to be quite different among the same class 10.
Although I prefer the cheaper ones, should I go with the reputable manufacturer or the highest price possible? I mean how much performance variance could there be unless the class specification is just a gimmick.

I shoot with a class 6 with no problems on the hack. I guess it depends on how much you want to push it though...

What brand is yours? Do you have the particular model number?
I'd rather go with the proven SDHC than to gamble with the class 10 hype.

Sandisk Extreme 30MB/s Class 10 has been shown in tests to wipe the floor with everything else. Reliable too as reports go. £54 for 16Gb. I bought one. Why not get the best? It's hardly a lot considering how important it is.

Sorry, I didn't see your post until now. My card is a Core Micro card. It was the cheapest class 6 16GB card that I could find and I bought it at Future shop. I am pretty sure almost any class 6 card will do if you cap your bitrate off at 35Mbs.

Thank you all.
I guess it's safe to go with anything above class 6.
I'll wait untill the year end to see how the price of 32gb goes.

PNY Class 10 card for GH17/new hack

PNY Class 10 card for GH17/new hack

First post...hello.

B&H has a 32gb, 20MB/s PNY SDHC:

I see complaints about this card regarding Canon DSLR video buffer. I'm hoping it will be at least as good as the Patriot LX for the GH1.
Anyone have experience with these and the GH13/17?
If not, do you think these will cut it, anyway?

Thanks.

don't buy lexar

don't buy lexar

at 44mpbs (max speed of the high reliabilty 40mbps patch) my sandisk extreme III class 6 worked fine but a lexar pro 133x class 10 randomly failed to write at that speed. so lexar is not a reliable choice.

Again, I think this is not fair of you to say.

In your posts you stated that in one mode it worked, in another, it didn't.

Surely, that is an indication that the card works, it works in some situation(s), it doesn't appear to be working in another. That's all YOU can say about THIS Lexar card.
