I don't think you said what brand your card was. Can you let us know?
Did you turn your camera off immediately after stopping recording. Maybe it was still writing to the card? I have done this without losing anything, just asking.
It's not that I think the failures are certainly tied to a card brand, size or type, but it's good info to know what cards are failing.
Has anyone had a Sandisk brand card failure yet?
I shoot weddings with my cameras and this all makes me very nervous. Hopefully, it is a very few having issues. But even a few is too much if it's a non-repeatable event.
Currently shooting Transcend, Ritek & Sandisk. Going only with Sandisk in the future.
Although this may not be any Panasonic issue, I think they need to analyze the failed cards and get to the bottom of this. User error is one thing, equipment failure is another. Or if there is an intrinsic problem with SDHC, lets do something about it.
Hi everyone,
I would like to know 3 things about these cards that fail.
1. What is the manufacturer , the size of the card and the Class # of the card?
2. What is your workflow to offload and get ready to reuse the card?
3. Approximately how many times have you used the card?
4. What were you recording at the time of the error message?
I am trying to see if there is some commonality in the incidents. I do know that all SD memory is not equal. Some have bad sectors, and just make minimum spec for Class 4. Any how if you want to help out in the research, I would be grateful.
Best,
Jan
scandisk is the only way to go. so far no bad review about it
Sorry! I have been using mostly Transcend, some Panasonic, and one PQI card for over a year with no problems at all. I have had TWO cards fail - both SanDisk!
