I've got a stuck SDHC card. It will not eject. I've wiggled & jiggled to no avail. (I've copied the footage to another card.) Anyone experienced this problem before and is there a solution short of sending it in for repair?
Thanks, John
In the past (and somewhere posted here about a year ago) this was addressed.
The idea was to cut a rectangular piece of firm plastic, like from the packaging electronics come in...the clear stuff, to the same size (maybe a little narrower) as an SD card.
Then you gently slide it in along the stuck card. This helps to release the card. It was found that most of the time the security tab on the card was the sticking point.
Try both sides.... I remember it worked for the original poster & it sounded like a good idea.
I would never use pliers of any kind....but in a pinch, a hammer will get it out!
Spoke with Panasonic Service Center and they said the camera needs to be sent in. They said the card mechanism is extremely sensitive and was probably damaged due to a fall. In fact, a few hours earlier, during a lens change, I forgot to tighten the hex nut after elevating my baseplate and the camera with that heavy Oly 35-100 did slip and fall about an inch. At the time I didn't think much about it but I guess that was enough of a shock to affect the camera.
