SDHC Card Scratches

Whether using my computer's build-in SD card slots, or a my Card reader. They give the SDHC cards vertical scratches on the metal contacts. Will this be a problem? Will this adversely affect the cards in the long run?

I would not get overly concerned,
these are designed for probably 5000 incertions. The plating thickness shoud deal with the scratches fine.

I worked for a large company who was involved in designing the sd card spec.

We had the sd connectors on our products. Scratches are normal.

When two metal objects rub off each other, what to you get?
Scratches

Whether you can see them or not, there on the card and connector.

This can be a good thing sometimes as if there is contamination on the card such as oil from fingerprints, it cut through it.

More concerned about the scratches I get in the SD card plastic from various card readers. These cards are flimsy enough without card readers scoring the casing!
