SD video recorder

I need an external video recorder that can import SD (720/480) via Firewire. Firewire is the strongest output on my old camera. It must be able to record 120 minutes without a break. I can do it with my tape recorder but it is large and heavy.

Ideas?

Your best bet, since miniDV is obsolete and FireWire is basically, too, may be to seek a good deal on a used Firestore. These were external hard disk recorders made for miniDV.

I'm not aware of any of these that are still for sale as new. There were many manufacturers including the Firestore and whatever Datavideo called theirs. Auction sites are your best bet right now.
