SD Tape Footage to Blu-Ray

Hi I'm new.
Is there any possibility to get dvx footage on blue ray and getting thereby a better image quality?
I own the blu-ray of The Man from Earth and the footage actually does look better.
But how did they do it?
Thanks!

I have done it.
Why do you want it on Blu-Ray, because you are trying to make the footage look better or because you prefer BD as the delivery medium?
I have up-resed DVX footage using Red Giant's Magic Bullet Instant HD plugin to 720P and it looked pretty good on Blu-Ray.
Did it look as good as if it had been shot originally with HD cameras? No.
Did it make a nice Blu Ray Disc? Yes.
Did it look better than the same video made on a DVD or putting the SD footage on a Blu Ray and being played in a Blu Ray player which up-scaled it anyway? Pretty close.
Does up-ressed SD footage look better for web? In my experience, yes.

So in my experience, upressing SD to HD does seem to marginally help for Blu Ray but probably isn't worth the time it takes to do it if it's a long project. I have put both HD and SD footage on the same BD and it worked fine. The HD footage played full screen and the player upscaled the SD to full screen as well. It looked pretty good considering.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
If it was for me, I would shoot SD and make a nice DVD, but people demand Blu-Ray-Disc and HD, even if it's SD footage.
I'll get Instant HD.
