SD-HC Card Problem

I've a problem with my Sandisk SD-HC Extreme III card.I bought this Class 6 version which is 8GB and i was using it however now it doesn't recognize the card in my HMC 151. I updated my camera and still no access to the card. Card works in my computer and my Canon Ti2 but now in my camcorder. Anyone had this kind of problem?

Yes, I have had the exact same thing happen with a Trancend 16gb card were my HMC suddenly would say card error, my Mac can read it and the card works just fine in my T2i with no problems, I haven't found a resolution either but you aren't alone.

Hmm.. :)

I have a Patriot 16GB card, bought it last August, it was my 'A' card, I just happen to use it more than the other cards.. not better or worse.. anyways, one day my camera stopped 'seeing' the card, but it works fine in my reader.

Turns out the case of the card de-laminated in one corner, and I suspect whatever the HMC uses to detect a card, it somehow affected by corner of the card not being as rigid as it once was. I've got some superglue around here, been meaning to repair it.

So look really close at your card, flex it a bit, see if the shell is coming apart.

Just looked really close at the card and it is solid - Now this is rather wierd, so I reformatted the card in my Canon, and shot with it last night along side the HMC150 and I just threw the card into the HMC and it isn't kicking back an error right now - hmmmmmmmm?

BugraA, and others on this thread,

Maybe I'm mistaken but if the camera does not "recognize" the card, then it will display the "CHECK CARD" warning. Are you getting that warning?

To sublimesnfu: formatting cards in a Canon camera seems to be asking for trouble and wildly outside of the user specifications. I doubt it'll ruin the card but I wouldn't expect the card to work in a Panasonic camera at all.

I have a post in the technical section, which I think this issue is. In my case I have determined that the problem is with the camera, not the cards. I have both units back at Panasonic for diagnostics. See my post on the first page in technical. I'll be reporting back there when Panasonic is done.

Yup, it's happening with both units!

running an HMC and a T2i huh? I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I know it's not on the topic of cards not working... but I'm curious about your HMC/T2i experience. Did you get the t2i after the HMC? What stopped you from selling the HMC and getting the mk II? how's life?!
