Sd card problems

I was doing a two camera shoot on location and had a scene file saved to one sd card and tried to write it onto both camera's. Only one camera would recognize the sd card. Cam A is a grey market camera from Japan and Cam B is from the US. Both are NTSC and have all of the same menu functions. If I write a scene file from the US camera onto the Sd card the Japanese one won't recognize it and vice versa.
This is just a Heads up for anyone else who has a grey market camera.
Is there anyway around this.
I plan to just write two seperate scene files before I go out next time. One for US cam and one for the Japanese cam.

compare the scenefile.txt files themselves to a defult scene file from the japan cam itself. there maybe just one letter difference in the header
