SD card or HMC problem?

So i was on a video shoot today, filming a wrestling match. I put in my first SD card, 8gb Class 6 card (gets 49min). I filled that up and for some reason, when i put in my 2nd card, same exact brand and everything, it said i only had 24 min. on it, i went into playback mode and there were no clips in there. Could this be a problem with the card maybe?

In the camera's menu, the second page I believe, is a "Card Functions" choice. Choose it, and you should see a command called "Format Card" (or something like that). That will format the card, and wipe erase anything that may be on it.

Press the MENU button, scroll through the display until you get to CARD FUNCTIONS, hit CARD FORMAT.

It's a good habit to get into to format your card each and everytime you copy the data off and want to regain the full capacity of the card.
