SD 702 Recording for voice over: should I select a sample rate higher than 48kHz???

If Audio CD quality is 44.1 kHz and for digital video audio is recorded at 48kHz, is there a reason or noticeable benefit to recording voice over at double that sample rate - 96kHz or beyond (192kHz).

I know that the Sound Devices 702 is capable of recording audio with a max sample rate of 192kHz.

But in terms of sample rate, would there be any noticeable difference in audio quality between a narrator's voice recorded at 48 kHz and if he were recorded at 96kHz or 192kHz?

And if not, what other benefits could there be to recording audio at higher sample rates than 48kHz? Would that be more suitable for music or sound effects?
Or should you always record at the maximum sample rate an audio recorder will allow you to use?

Or put another way, is having a greater sample rate like having more stops of exposure? As in 14 stops of light being better than 12.

For dialog, not in my book. 48kHz is the current video standard, that's where your dialog ends up, so that's what I use to capture dialog.

One can make a case for higher sample rates for music. But music and dialog are not at all the same thing.

I will second that. My work sessions are at 48/24 and if you send me something else I will sample rate convert it.

I would suggest 24 bit though. If I have to do noise reduction or other EQ 24 bit helps. Old ears can also almost always pick out 24bit VS 16 bit, almost never 48K VS 96K.
