SD 302 - 4/5 RTN inputs?

Hey everyone,

I keep hearing that I'm able to use the RTN on the right side of my 302 as a 4th pseudo-input.

Any ideas one how to achieve this? Am I also able to choose which channel (L/C/R) I can send it to?

Thanks,

Matt

I was bored and reading the 302's manual today and saw that the way they explain it is a little confusing I guess... Though it really is quite simple. If you hadn't figured it out yet, go direct with one or use a splitter for your two lavs receiver output (there is no mic pre). Make sure it's stereo 1/8th, I believe Tip=Left, Ring=Right. To set chan 4/chan 5 left and right read the start up menu on page 22 of the manual(you should have got one with your 302). Then adjust the level with the trim pots located near the return. Hope this helps. Not ideal losing the return/being unbalanced but great if you need it.

Hasn't your mother ever told you RTFM!

Seems odd to me someone would have a pricey piece of equipment laying around and not know how to use it... I guess you use it for what you need it for and that's fine.

Let's keep in mind that we have all levels of users around here. You even admitted that the explanation in the manual can be a bit confusing, so if some one who doesn't necessarily speak the language of the deeper details is a little lost, or perhaps bought a used mixer that came with no manual, maybe we should be more helpful and less critical.

My cyber tone is too harsh.. At least I made an attempt. Not all manuals are written with everyone in mind, but usually they are online and able to answer most questions about your gear.
