Finally, here are some screenshots of my first short, totally shot with the DVX100BE. No CC yet. Unfortuantely we had some problems with the reds (as I learned in another forum, the colour compression artifacts are due to a wrong matrix setting) and, this ist surprising to me, we found the same artifacts in brilliant blue colours, esepcially in combination with skin tones).

There ist also some noise and flicker in outdoor scenes with bright sunlight. Probably too much contrast?

We hope to fix some in post (working with Permiere Pro 2). If someone has any advices, how you can fix colour compression artifacts and flicker in post, I would be very thankful.

Hope you enjoy.

Congrats! As a standalone shot, my favorite by far was the one where the man is standing in the street looking just off camera - just before her finds whatever he finds in the bushes. My only concern is that you've displayed so many stills, I feel like I don't need to see the film. I would choose some of the ones you like best and then maybe show them before and after CC.

hey. so, just for kicks i did some color correction on the images. mainly cause i'm really frekain' bored, but also cause i was kinda curious if i could get the image quality i was looking for in a DVX100BE.

but yah- if this sparks some CC ideas, then sweet. if not, then thats cool. just thought i'd throw it out there.

good luck!

My favorite grab is also the one with the man standing in the road. The CC looks good. I like the one by the water and the other with the guy looking in the bushes.

Hey some really nice shots there mate. I like the natural lighting you achieved. What was your lighting set up? Also Shableep wicked colour correction what did you colour correct in and what was your method.

thanks shableeb, like your cc. What did you actually do, in some of the pictures, especially in the last two ones it seems you have increased contrast. Like the cc in the indoor kitchen scenes since it is giving the dramtaic look to them which I was looking for.

tasuo, we used one HMI placed outside the kitchen window (worked fine until the sun became too strong) and some Dedo and type of Arri for the indoor scenes.

Maybe someone might be interested in the camera setting, as I remember they were:

25p
cine gamma
matrix cine like
detail level +2 (think it was a bad idea since I found noisy areas in some pictures)
detail coring +2
chroma level +2
master ped -3

all the others were set by zero
