Nice!

What did you use post-pro-wise?

I noticed some interleaving on the last shot - was this shot progressive? 60i?

Re: Screens from short drama

i like them, the dark ones seem a little grainy though

did you use post correction, it seems like the last image is a little diffused

Re: Screens from short drama

dammit! for some reason these pics arent showing for me raddrew11, ill have to check back later...

Re: Screens from short drama

You might want to consider using soft lights for interior shots. The shadows cast from the overhead hanging lights is a little much imho.

Also, I'm curious, did you deliberately want to create a silhouette effect for your CUs?

The shots of the clock and the guy looking in the mirror are nice.

Re: Screens from short drama

just updated some of the screenshots, shot lastnight, o ya, and btw, i dropped the DVX! :) idiot and i broke an umbrella for one of the lights :)

Re: Screens from short drama

Yeah whatever! You experts can nit-pick if you want, but I think they're frigging incredible. Very inspiring for a newbie like moi. :D

Using motion for post? Interesting, that's a first.

ps. Just joshing bout the nitpicking, I know that is exactly what raises the bar around here.

BRILLIANT!!

Re: Screens from short drama

Nice job. I really like these grabs. Really nice composition. And cool look - it looks like green bleach bypass with chroma glow. Am I right? My favorite is the 2 shot CU of the guy and the girl. The only one I'm not crazy about is the wide shot in the kitchen. Not sure if it's the lighting or composition or what - that wall seems pretty white and draws attention to it, not like your other shots which are pretty dark with splashes of light. Also, I'm sure the girl would appreciate either a soft filter on her face or some makeup or both. I like Tiffens' Soft EFX 1.
Good job
Bill

Re: Screens from short drama

Rad, you can try to turn down the diffusion. Its nice but alittle too soft for my opinoin.

Re: Screens from short drama

I like the frames, this is definitely good work. However, on the frame consisting of just the smiling girl.. i see a lot of interlacing, why does that happen?
I composed some shots, when i transferred them... they looked fine but after i edited and compressed them... they all look interlaced.
Any clue? Anyone? :-[

Re: Screens from short drama

nice pics, did you change any settings in the camera, if so, what?
or did you do it all in post?
I'd like to try the same effect on a current project.

Re: Screens from short drama

Regarding interlaced images, I had this problem when pulling stills from 24p footage. (I don't remember having this problem with 300) However, my workaround was to use a deinterlace filter in my NLE (FCP) THEN export them to jpg or Tiff.

Re: Screens from short drama

The compositions are nice, but at least in this context, they look a little dark and desaturated. Could be what you're going for, but if not, they're too dark.
