Who is your DP/Operator?

What was the budget of your short? What kind of G/E package did you rent? Where did you rent from?

I love the Sachtler hi-hats, but they don't work well for rigging.

Nice BTS pics.

Cheers,

Matt

Budget, I am don't event want to think of the number, between rental, insurance, catering, transportation and miscellaneous, it when sky high beyond budget which originally I thought I could pull it off with no more than $700

Package for the camera: I rented from DuAllCamera in NYC; they were great and flexible.

rench flag
filter kit including:
Polarizer filter (extremely important for this script!), ND 3, ND 6, ND 9, ND 1.2 at least
keep this stuff from the first list:

ERG EV85 8.4" HD LCD Monitor

The hi-hat was very handy we used it in at least three major shots.

Hey Roman,

Thanks for the breakdown. Who recommended the package? Did you rent a van/truck to haul that around? The silks/6x6 make a lot of sense becuase video doesn't fair well in harsh sunlight. Can we see the film yet?

I am guessing Jessica Ward is this one.

Mainly becuase she is wearing an AC pouch and camera tape on a HD shoot. How did you meet?

I'm moving to the city full time in June. I have an M2 kit that is lonely without an HVX, hah.

Why are you guys using a timecode slate? Did you have a dual system?

Cheers,

Matt

Hey Matt,
My pleasure.
Jessica was very helpful. She recommended the package. Initially I gave her a list and then she shaped it to fit my pocket... it was very basic... the bare to get a way with potential scenarios.

I was going to DP the project like have done in the past with my own work the music videos and stuff but then I got to trust her. She just knew what she was talking about and I felt comfortable enough to let her operate so that I could focus on directing.

Here was the original list:

Mini 35
P+S Technik Mini 35 Adapter or the M2 ADAPTER
2 4 Gig P2 Cards
Zeiss Prime Lens Set 18, 25, 35, 50, 85mm T1.3
Matte-Box
Follow Focus
Sachtler Video 18
ERG EV85 8.4" HD LCD Monitor
2 V-Mount Batteries w/ dual charger
C-Stand for monitor

Let me know when you are finally moved down here. I have the HVX and you have the M2.... lets create good looking footage.
