I am looking for the best screen recording software out there (or one of the best) where I can record my screen, zoom in on certain parts of the screen and also circle certain parts as well with the circle maybe doing some kind of effect when I click that part of the screen..know what I mean?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for that...so there are no programs out there where you can zoom in live during recording with mouse clicks or keyboard strokes??

The zooming is something built in to Mac OSX and is enabled via the accessibility options in system preferences.

Personally, I use iShowU HD, but others work too.

Screenflow is the most fully featured, and most expensive. It records the whole screen, including any of the OSX zooming you might do, and then you can crop in post to just show the part of the screen you want. However, in post, where you can do it better anyway, you can add all sorts of effects and highlighting.

It might be worth mentioning that Quicktime has rudimentary screen capture capability. It's not feature rich but it is possible to capture the whole screen or part of it and to vary audio volume.
