Screen Grabs from the Century Tele Adapter?

alot of those shots still seem pretty wide angle. were you zoomed in all the way with any of those shots?

To answer the Magical Fall questions:

1. The music library I use is available at http://www.bmgmusicsearch.com/us

The name of the track used for Magical Fall is "Spellbound" by Anthony Phillips.

2. I'm shooting in letterbox mode and have a mental sense of where the additional crop will occur for Cinemascope. I could mask it off on my LCD I suppose, but it's not necessary for me, I know how much wiggle room I need on the top and bottom of the frame. Believe me, you do this enough times and it becomes second nature.

And Rich, for the example shot of my daughter, I was waaaay back and zoomed in 100% for that shot.

Would this adapter be redundant (or overpriced) if I was also going to buy one of the 35mm adapters, presumably I could then use any number of standard tele or converter lenses at a great cost savings, no?

*for discussion sake (regardless of the cost of the adapter) let's just use the mini35 as an example because the micro35 and guerilla35 aren't actually done.

I feel like an idiot but I still don't get it? I am still unsure of exactly what this tele-adaptor does? I know it crushes the DOF, but does it increase the zoom length? If it did, that would be awesome because the prime 10x lens on the camera is pretty limited. If it does increase the zoom length, how much does it increase it by? And if it doesn't do that at all then please talk to me like I am slow and explain it again somebody? I'm definitely interested.

PS Disjecta, I love your stuff. Besides your comps, your colors are beautiful. Have you written any color correction tutorials? Or are you planning to? I'm sure I'm speaking for nearly everyone here, we'd love that and it would be immensely appreciated as it would be helpful.

sorry, i was refering to the shots that specter posted...i only now just read that he was using the wide angle adaptor and not the tele...i got confused...but that explains why i thought they were wide angle!

btw, your shot of your daughter is great, nice dof.

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, as I do not have the tele - adapter, but from what I understand, it does crush the DOF by extending the Zoom legnth. The adapter is 1.6x, so if your lens is 10x - then if you add the adapter the lens would be 16x afterwards.

I got confused as well. BASTARD! Now I have to choose, at first I was going to purchase the tele-adapter, but I love those wide shots, and I think that they are enhansed by using a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to buy both ... choices ... choices ....

I'm still wondering,

"Would [these] adapters be redundant (or overpriced) if I was also going to buy one of the 35mm adapters [like a mini35, micro35, G35], presumably I could then use any number of standard tele or converter lenses at a great cost savings, no?"

Shawn, you can, of course use any lenses that will fit whatever 35mm adapter you choose but there won't be any cost savings per se...you'll still have to shell out a significant amount of cash to get a decent zoom lens in 35mm format...

Sorry, I guess I made an "assumption" that the Panasonic/Century specific adapters would be more expensive due to the specialized nature and relatively small production runs in comparison to existing Canon/Nikon lenses.
