Screen grabs from short Suspense Thriller.

Some screen grabs from Ragtag's first "serious" suspense thriller film tentatively titled "The Noise."

The film has been in post for a while due to the many projects ("Teenage Superhero Pregnancy Scare," "Without a Clue," "Double Dip") that happened between the principle photography of this. But I hope to have this completed by the end of the year.

Also, does anybody know how to get these screen grabs to compress cleaner? I use Avid and export 720x480 jpegs, then I have to rescale them 'cuz they export a bit stretched. Maybe I should post that question elsewhere. Anyways, check 'em out and let me know what you think.

I like the 3rd shot. could be a little tighter though. the second one looks like it is lit by natural light, which might not be good. good stuff

definitely the first and last ones are the best of the bunch, but that 2nd one...jeesh I don’t know. I would try to avoid white bare walls like the plague. They scream- "my brother let me use his living room for that scene".

I know hindsight is always 20/20, but next time try pulling the couch away from the wall, and at an angle, so that the walls corner is more centered behind the couch. It implies more depth, and hit the dollar store: you can find a ton of junk to hang on the wall.

But that last grab, very very cool.

i think the best one is the girl in the tub. not because it implies nudity, but it does actually look good.....but the implied nudity is also good.

2nd one doesn't look liike anything from a suspenseful movie. Too damn bright and boring. I think it would benefit with some different lighting which has been stated above. The others are pretty good though. Good job.

I think you could use some gaffer work on your film, good start though...

for a "higher budget" feel try to get someone to spend some time with lights.

I hear ya Obin...definitely needed more time on the lighting. With these kinds of movies, lighting is key to create the mood.

As for the 2-shot on the couch, there was actually some stuff on the wall, but it's all hidden behind the letterboxed mask, ha. But yeah, that shot is blah and stale.

Thanks for digging the shots, most of them at least. Hope to have this wrapped before year's end.

And you gotta love the implied nudity. I probably spent the most time on the scene, covering it in any way I could ;)
