Shot this on Tuesday in my living room, putting the new light kit to use. Increased contrast and crushed the blacks in post. Critique away! :thumbsup:

i liek that alot actuallly. But yo ureally need to make theos highlight lines have composition al weight. things like making the line run from one corner to the other while rendering the edge of the guys face, and all weird angles and stuff.

Want to here some funny? I have that exact same keyboard and was doing that exact same thing the other day in my room! I had the black abyss thing going on and with the light highlighting me, of course, mine was just a test but damn....great minds think alike!

Wow! that is some cool lighting, especially the 2nd one. how many lights did you use? and what were their placements? did you change the lighting position on the 2nd one?

The whole thing was done with two lights.
In both cases, I had a 750w Tota directly behind his head, opposite the camera. Then, in the wide shot, you can see the additional 250w LowelPro in the frame.
For the second grab, I had essentially the same type of setup, but with the lights remaining in the same position relative to the camera. I did, however, move the 250w to the left of the 750 (instead of the right, as it appears in the first grab) to spread a little bit of light on the camera side of the face, to give the image some more definition.
The third grab was actually shot before the second, and at that point, I didn't have the 250 turned on.
