Screen Grabs from film location; Jim Thorpe, PA

It's the grain and the off white balance that adds to the beauty of those simple shots. It would even be better if you set the detail settings to thick and not thin (unless planning to blow it up) because it's too sharp. If focus was a slight softer, it would really be indestinguishable.

For "the motorcycle diaries" the sweeping 16x9 shots of south america was actually shot on a different stock to the 35mm the rest of the movie was shot with. This was because South America was just too damned beautiful and what was required was a super 16 format to get some grain inherent on the stock and so that it would match better with the other shots as well as better representing the lay person's perspective on life as opposed to a beatifully lit and equipped hollywood set.

that would be awesome. quite a trip for you though- that'd be a 3 hour drive. We're only going to be shooting on weekends though because of peoples schedules. Jim thorpe is in the pocono area. its an awesome location- we also are shooting inside the jail that the molly maguires were hung. In 1969 sean connery starred in a film there about the molly maguires. Look the story up- its very interesting. We have some b/w photos being developed that I will post when i get them.

Nice work Zach... We just loves trains

The shots are comming across a bit on the faded side, was that intentional or is my gamma off?

Upload them to your server as jpeg's then post the URL in your message (reply or new topic) put an image tag at the front and back end of your url so it would look like this

http://www.members.shaw.ca/maw38/pics/deer1.jpg

Image tag is the fourth icon in lower row of the AddYABBC tags. hit that button and type or paste your URL in between the two.

Hope you understood cos I sure as f&%k didn't

There's a 'sticky' topic in this forum that I think covers this pretty well! :)
